'Creating Turbulently happy work since 2014'

shed-ache is a seriously silly dance theatre show that transports little people and their grown ups to a world that sits somewhere between reality and make believe.
Two dancers and a shed on wheels get up to all sorts whilst faced with down pores, lava floors and socks falling out of the sky.
shed-ache is about the give and take of friendship, the power of imagination and the importance to embrace experiences whatever the weather.
Be prepared to be blown away by aKa’s brand new family friendly show which is bright and sunny. With 100% chance of laughter.
Commissioned by Arts Council England, South East Dance, Pavilion Dance South West, Taunton Council, Applause, Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre & Make The Sunshine.
shed-ache (2023) has been touring across the country mainly to village halls, school halls, theatres, village fairs and high streets including Yorkshire Dance, The egg, Half Moon Theatre, Swindon Dance, Culture Trust, Wells Theatre Festival and many more.

Commissioned and supported by Take art and Tacchi Morris Arts Centre
Fashion Police is a walkabout and has performed at festivals, high streets, Pride celebrations and more.

aKa were so inspired by how communities came together during lockdown they encourage their neighbours to become choreographers for the day and create a dance performance themselves.

Jen and Joe invited the residents of Rowbarton, Taunton to contribute to the creative process for making 30-60 second pieces of dance, which were then performed on people's doorsteps.
A final, 15 minute dance that brought all of the different pieces together was then performed for the community at Greenway recreation ground in Taunton. Supported and funded by Wassail Theatre and Somerset Emergency Theatre.
